MIDNIGHT KNITTER

A great looking pillow that will impress your friends. This pattern is pretty simple but looks fancy in this chunky yarn. The only things you need to know how to do is yarn over increases and decreases as well as making a cable in the center. Seed stitch edges create a nice contrast to the pattern.

This one was knit with Gedifra Live but is just as cool using funky colors of GGH Aspen as well as Rowan Polar.

FRONT
- cast on 40 sts
- work 4 rows Seed stitch
- starting with RS row, work pattern as follows

-	Pattern - Each Row for 8 rows: 4 sts Seed 11 sts Horseshoe 10 sts Cable 11 sts Horseshoe 4 sts Seed

- repeat as an 8 row pattern 5 times.
- work 4 rows Seed stitch
- bind off

BACK
- work same as front (for a simple back,
St st all besides seed stitch border as for front)

SEED
K1, P1 - alternate rows (on return row K the K sts and P the P sts)

HORSESHOE
Row 1: K1, yo, K3, sl1, K2tog,
           psso, K3, yo, K1
Rows 2, 4, 6 & 8: P
Row 3: K2, yo, K2, sl1, K2tog,
           psso, K2, yo, K2
Row 5: K3, yo, K1, sl1, K2tog,
           psso, K1, yo, K3
Row 7: K4, yo, sl1, K2tog, psso,
           yo, K4

CABLE
Row 1: P2, K6, P2
Rows 2, 4, 6 & 8: K2, P6, K2
Row 3: P2, K6, P2
Row 5: P2, K6, P2
Row 7: P2, sl 3 sts to cable needle (leave at back of work), K3, K3 sts from cable needle, P2

FINISHING
- Sew along inside edge of seed stitch border and make pillow insert out of any material. I used a white shiny see-thru fabric.
