Wide bell-shaping allows for the same size to fit a variety of ages, looking cutely oversized on smaller girls and a nice tight fit on older girls

yarn: Gedifra Maori
if you are looking for a substitution yarn:you'll need approx:  250-300 yds of yarn that works a gauge of 4 sts per inch on a US 8 needle (but you will work the top with US 10.5 or 11 needles)

This ultra sweet shirt was knit with Maori, creating the perfect summer top.

Size: 2-4 years

needles: US 10.5

Abbreviations:
k = knit
p = purl
st st = stockinette stitch
k2tog = knit 2 sts together

INSTRUCTIONS

- cast on 42 sts
- work in St st for 16 rows. At the same time, on rows 12 and 16: decrease 1 st each end.
- work in St st until piece measures 9" (40 rows or desired length) from beginning.
Begin Raglan armhole shaping
- next row (RS): Bind off 2 sts, K to end
- next row (WS): Bind off 2 sts, P to end
- Row 1 (dec row): K2, K2tog, work to last 4 sts, K2tog, K2
- Row 2: P
- Continue working last two rows to 16 sts
- work 6 Rows St st for neck
- bind off

FRONT
- work as for back

SLEEVES
- cast on 24 sts
- work two rows in St st
- Row 1 (dec row):  K2, k2tog, work to last 4 sts,
k2tog, k2
- Row 2:  P across.
- Continue working last two rows to 8 sts.  Work even in St st until piece measures 6" from beginning.  Bind off

FINISHING
- block pieces to measurements.  Sew sleeve caps to raglan armholes.  Sew side and sleeve seams
