** i got some Noro Silk Garden (colors 34 and 39, 1 skein of each) from a local yarn shop and just had to use them right away...i found the yarn to be perfect for crochet since it isn't soft yarn...almost has a hemp quality to it.

** i worked some shapes and did crochet inbetween to fill in the gaps...here's a link to a freeform crochet site  knotjustknitting.com  ...the first time i saw freeform crochet was from a book my mom gave me (A New Look at Crochet - 1975)...in the book, artists used crochet as an art medium, creating framed art,  baskets, wall hangings, furniture...
